David Sedaris Is touching, funny and absorbing
The venue was beautiful and very comfortable, with great views from everywhere in the house. People were constantly moving about, talking, walking around, visiting with others, etc. The only odd thing I found, and I have been to a moderate number of shows for my age, is that at this particular place people felt like they were at home. This reading was particularly funny, but everytime his storytelling, whether it is in book form, on tape or in person, is moving, absorbing and funny. We do every chance we get since discovering him on the David Letterman Show years back. I wish we could see him more often. I feel like I am in another place and time and I love the experience. We have seen Franklin Jonas and The Byzantines 3 times now. That was the only disturbing factor in an otherwise flawless experience. If I were the owner of the theater, I would ask people to stay seated for the comfort of others and so that everyone gets their monies worth by being able to focus on the show and understand what is being said (sang, performed, etc).
